Last week's class at Scrapbookingfromscratch was designed by Emily Pearce. It was a great class, using every last little scrap & resulting in five LOs for me. Great value for money as well as a lovely day out with Peta & the girls!!!

I also got to finish these 2 LOs at our catch up scrap night at Teresa's last fortnight. They were the bonus Los designed by Teresa for June's monthly album class.

WEEK 11 RERT

This was last week's entry......our stop off was the nation's capital. The challenge was to use some floral p/p, the bonus flag & a sketch. I only got this finished just in time before the cut off on Tuesday night, so didn't get a card completed for this week.

And for our final leg of the journey, we are travelling to Helen's hometown of Canowindra....& balloons are the challenge!!!

As featured on the front page of the Scrapboutique webpage....my three LOs using Kaisercraft's new range 'Hunt & Gather'. These papers really appealed to me & the LOs came together pretty quickly!!!

I managed to get back on the bus for Week 10 of the RERT at Red Earth Scrapping. This week we were off to Emerald in QLD & had to feature scallops & sunflowers!!!

I had a day trip to Peta's SFS retreat at the end of June. These were the LOs I scrapped:

Felicity took Splash to Sydney for the weekend for his birthday last December & surprised him with tickets to Jack Johnson - photos off her Iphone.

And this very attractive photo of Joshua was taken by one of his workmates up on top of the cherrypicker at work.

The rest are all old photos for the kid's childhood albums - not great photos but memories worth recording still.

A productive day of scrapping & lots of fun with a room full of like minded buddies!!!

I was lucky enough to attend Scrapboutique's winter retreat to Noonaweena last weekend. This was the 3rd year that Chelsea has hosted a retreat at this beautiful place, down off the central coast into the mountains.

There weren't as many girls this year but we still had lots of fun & managed a fair bit of scrapping between us all. I scrapped 23 LOs & completed quite a few different challenges over the 3 days.

This one was for the White With 1 challenge - it's been a long time since I participated in a challenge on this site but I was really drawn to the red & white & spots/dots combo this month.

And this one was for Kraft It Up:

I also got to scrap at Peta's SFS retreat, just for the day on Friday. Had a busy day there as well, finishing 10 LOs & catching up with some new & old scrapping friends:):):)

Will share some more during the week - I accidently deleted my 2011 LO file in Picasa yesterday - so will have to photograph about 150 LOs again. That's what I get for not backing up more often.

This was from a new embellie site called 'a lil somethin' by Susan Longman & Wendy Smith:

This is my last month on the Scrap the Girls CT - due to my computer problems, I wasn't able to take part in the previous month's challenges, but I hope to get the current challenge done this week.

This month's challenge is a COLOUR CHALLENGE and there are some scrummy samples from the girls over on the blog.

While I was offline all that time, there were some changes happening over at Scrapboutique. It was sad to say goodbye to Manon, who has been on the team for quite a few years & who was our stylist coordinator. Manon has changed directions in her life & has gone back to studying full time.

So Chelsea advertised & after sorting through many applications, she decided to add two new stylists to our team. Leanne & Christine, now join Sonia & I, as stylists for the wonderful site that is Scrapboutique. Welcome girls!!!

My challenge for last weekends 'Favourites' Cybercrop, was to scrap a LO in the colours of your favourite chocolate. This is my LO that I finished on my weekend away with the TickLed Pink girls.

And in case you weren't able to guess - my all time favourite chocolate is plain Cadbury's dairy milk!!!

These are my last stylist LOs I was able to finish before my break in transmission. I used Fancy Pants 'To the Moon' pps & photos of Riley & I taken just before we moved house.

And the first means new challenges of course.

At Scrap the Girls the challenge is to create a LO using one of the 'She' quotes from Kobi Yamada, as your inspiration.

We had such a great family Christmas & New Year - I still feel on a high from it all!!!! And this year is just travelling along fine so far LOL.

I have been busy filling my December Daily journal, which has been lots of fun, particularly as I have scrapped most of it over two different days at Teresa's. I'm up to Day 25.....Christmas Day of course!!! And I'm not starting any other scrapping until I have the journal completed.

At Scrap The Girls this month, the challenge is:

Using complementary colours.....
Create your layout using only ONE set of your choice from the following sets of complementary colours

red and green
blue and orange
yellow and violet

You may also use small amounts of neutral colours (eg. black, white, cream & kraft)
remember girls only!

I went with the Yellow & Violet combo, & scrapped this when I was on Retreat at Darlington Beach with the Scrapboutique girls.

This month we have a “Bits and Pieces” challenge for you to complete….

The rules are to use every piece of the puzzle ONCE ONLY! you can't add anything else to your page aside from the elements, they represent all the patterned papers, photos and embellishments - (exception to this rule is your base page does not count as a puzzle piece and you can add a title, ink, stitching, paint & glimmermist ;))

The stars can represent ANY embellishment, the heart must be used as a heart, the circles must be used as circles - it is up to you how big or small they are, or what they are!

The puzzle pieces are obviously not to scale, it is completely up to you what size you want to make them.

Puzzle challenges are always fun to do, although sometimes it's hard just to use what is listed!!! Here is my sample:

I'm not a great fan of Prima as a rule, & it took me a while to do anything with this new range that Chelsea sent me in my stylist pack. But when I did start on some LOs, they fell together really quickly & I was happy with the end results!!!

I knew what I wanted to do for this week's interior at Wicked Princesses but it took me until last night to actually sit down & start on it. Once I did, it came together really quickly!!!! I've been very happy with all my LOs for this competition.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

The first day of spring was lovely & mild here. I'm so looking forward to some warmer weather.

The new monthly challenge is up at Scrap The Girls and I love all the crisp, new LOs the Creative Team have shared with us this month.

September - the beginning of spring! Scrap a Layout using a photo of a "first" or "new beginning" - examples could be, first day of school, first haircut, new home, new marriage - the possibilities are endless!
Extra criteria - Use a WHITE cardstock base page, to make your entries look crisp & fresh for a new season :)

I don't feel like I've actually scrapped alot this month, but the big pile of LOs on my desk, waiting to be filed, tells me otherwise!!!!
I managed to finish 16 LOs & half my 2009 Christmas album, on our weekend away up at the Hut with the TickLed Pink girls. It was a great, relaxing time in a beautiful, natural setting. I haven't photographed all my LOs yet but these couple I did for challenges at ScrapBoutique.

TIME FLYING BY

Gosh......just where are the days going.......nearly 2 weeks has passed since my last blog entry......& now we're into another new month.

OK.....getting back to the charity crop day in July - I had a lovely day with Lois & Michelle & met new friends in Annie, Donna & Mandy. Also caught up with lots of older acquaintances from Megastore days. Cassie & her helpers did a marvelous job in organising the day & I was lucky enough to win a couple of prizes too!!!

These are the other LOs I finished on the day.

Some were scraplifts & all were scrapped using my kits that I have saved for crop days etc.

Also in July, Chelsea hosted a crop day in the holidays - Lois & I went down for some scrapping with Chels, Sav & Ros & met Toni & Lisa for the first time IRL!!!!
Had a lovely & productive day again, completing 4 LOS all together.

I am really enjoying scrapping with friends at the moment - I seem to get alot more done then what I do at home.

And there have been a few of the girls finish my LO class from last night, with gorgeous interpretations of my original LO & instructions.

BIRTHDAY MONTH

July has been birthday month at ScrapBoutique where each Friday night, one of the Stylists has been presenting a free online class. This week is my turn & you'll be able to check my LO class out here. Here's a little sneaky peek of what we will be doing.

1. I cannot stand plastic bread clips - they honestly make me feel sick on the stomach when i find them lying around the kitchen bench or more often, on the floor -I'm sure my children do it to me on purpose.

2. I have a younger sister who does not have any contact with our family - unfortunately, everyone loses in that situation.

3. I have a renewed, deep appreciation of my husband of nearly 25 years & regret having taken him for granted so often in all that time of marriage.

4. I've never broken a bone in my 47 years......lost my breast & have an artificial hip yes.....but never a broken bone!!!

5. Every minute of every day I wish I didn't have cancer.

My battery is just about to die so I'll finish this post tomorrow.

M.I.A

Yes I have definitely been Missing In Action for the last couple of weeks.
And unfortunately most of what has happened while I was M.I.A, were very sad events.......starting with Felicity's car accident & the write-off of the Magna (thankfully she wasn't injured) & ending with my father-in-law's funeral. Although his passing was a blessing in the end because he went in his sleep, without alot of pain, it has still left us with heavy hearts & a sad finality. My husband is now without his parents & I think that is just one of the saddest things that we have to go through in our lives.

May you Rest in Peace Pop............

Today is our big boy's 23rd Birthday, wow so much has happened over those 23 years and your Dad & I are really proud of the person you have become. You will always hold a special place in my heart Joshua.

Over the last couple of months I have been scrapping some old photos of Josh that used to be in one of those collage type frames, which had broken & has been sitting in my cupboard for years. I don't scrap Joshua alot, mainly because he dislikes having his photo taken, so I have really enjoyed using these 'little boy' photos of him. And scrapping them in the smaller size of 8.5" x 11" means that I complete them quickly, using scraps & can file them into an A4 display folder. I'm not sure that he really appreciates the whole procedure but I know that his girlfriend Alicia, enjoys looking at the LOs & reading the little anecdotes about his early life.

This is my sample for this month's Stylist Challenge at ScrapBoutique. I used Em's Roast instructions from last month's CC for it.

These are the rest of the 16 LOs I completed at the ScrapBoutique Retreat at Noonaweena. I was really pleased with them all & I had such a nice, relaxing weekend with a great bunch of fun girls!!!!
Photos on this one are from 2006!!!

This one came together so easily using a Pink Paislee Queen Bee kit from SFS & some fun photos of Lois & Briony at our weekend retreat in April.

I think this was a sketch challenge - used the gorgeous Teresa Collins Friendship p/ps which were very fitting for this equally gorgeous photo of Michelle, Lois & I at Kate's retreat in March.
Love this one - I was determined to use the chip chandalier this weekend.

Speed scrap - had 45mins to finish - I think I took 35!!! And won the voting prize.

Congrats to my darling for reaching 30yrs service with the Railway. A big achievement in this day & age!!!

Puzzle Challenge using a photo Teresa took of me after my facial at Ella Rouge - this was the week before I went to hospital.

This was a lucky dip challenge - I had to use black, white & stars.

Documenting Felicity's month when she got her full time job & her P's, within a fortnight of each other.

Another one for Josh's childhood album - using the new Tim Holtz mask from the Boutique.

So today being the 1st of June means there are lots of new challenges up for the month. At Scrap the Girls we want you to scrap those girly Birthday photos in bright, fun colours. Extra criteria this month is to use a mixed alpha title with at least 3 different alphas. Here's my sample:

And getting back to those lost 10 days - I had a sick little boy for 3 days, we spent 4 days in Tamworth, I celebrated my Birthday on one of them & the other 2 I think I might have spent doing some scrapping!!!!

Slowly recovering from my surgery each day, hopefully this wet weather clears up soon so I can get out for a little walk each day. Just when I start feeling a bit stronger, something manages to pop up to upset things - at the moment it's the thought of having to start the dreaded chemo again next week:(((

BUT I am soooooo lucky to have the ScrapBoutique retreat at Noonaweena to enjoy this weekend.******* CAN'T WAIT ********

This was my Roast LO for ScrapBoutique's April Cybercrop. There were some great LOs in the gallery for this challenge - the girls stayed very true to the original instructions!!!

I completed Kates's April sketch for Scrapbooking from Scratch but forgot to email it to Peta - I really liked this LO.

And this last one was for Chinese Whispers at Scrapbook Divas. I used an old photo of my two big brothers looking very cute!!!

The entries for Week 1 were amazing, hopefully the levels of interest will be maintained as we scrap our way all around the globe. Not that I've done much scrapping recently.......although I did manage my Italy LO & one of the challenges for the CC, as well as the Sunday Roast LO. So I guess that's not too bad after all.

Quick trip to Sydney this week for my pre-admission appt at RPA. Found our way there OK but changed our accommodation from the pub next door which was a dive, up the street to Rydges. Saw lots of different staff at hospital, everyone was nice & friendly - but I'm still scared witless about it all :( And 6 weeks of virtually being housebound afterwards - hope it's not too long before I can scrap or I'll really go mental!!!!!!!

APRIL STUFF

The start of the month was a low time for me unfortunately. I experienced nearly 10 days of nausea after my first lot of IV bone treatment & was severely depressed for a number of days. Thankfully that awful time passed after we spent some time away visiting family over Easter.

On a brighter front - Chelsea has asked me back as a permanent stylist for ScrapBoutique. Thankyou Chels for this opportunity, which is a more than welcome distraction for me at the moment. And lucky me.........I got to play with some of the ultra cute MME Lil Robots range from the Boutique.

And my first official duty was to set the theme for April's Monthly Challenge - Indulgences. Chelsea also gave me some of the Jillibean Soup range 'Old World Cabbage Stew' to use in my stylist pack & this is what I came up with - my greatest indulgence is definitely my weekends away scrapping.

Speaking of indulgent weekends away - the TickLed Pink girls had our 2nd trip down to the Southern Highlands last weekend. This time we stayed in a beautiful BIG house in Berrima & took a day trip over the mountain to Kangaroo Valley on the Saturday. We went antique shopping again, ate lots of good food & laughed heaps together. We had late nights scrapping - I completed 16 LOs - half of those in A4 size and I managed to get lots of older photos done for a number of challenges. It was a really good weekend, marred only by being delayed in traffic for a couple of hours coming out of Sydney, due to an accident on the Hawkesbury bridge. But even then we managed to keep ourselves entertained by eating popcorn & watching people in the cars next to us!!!! I didn't take many photos so hopefully one of the girls will lend me theirs.

I've received my hospital papers from my Orthopaedic Dr at RPA. My hip replacement surgery has been booked for the 10th May & we have to go down for a pre admission appt on the 28th April. I am somewhat nervous about the whole thing but need to keep in mind that the end result of being painfree & able to walk properly, is going to be worth any hassle beforehand. Hopefully I won't be out of action for too long.

Gosh we had such a good time - lots of laughs, scrapping & yummy food thanks to Kate's Mum Marion.

Monday - tired, tired tired

Tuesday - appointment for fine CT of the hip, then out to lunch with Jamie & his brother John - geez it was yummy!!!

Wednesday - unpacked retreat stuff, including my 22 LOs I completed.
Then appointment for bone & hormone IV treatments at the hospital.

And tomorrow it all starts again with another scrappy day with my girls.

Other good news from last week - I won a challenge at Scrapbook Divas Crazy Crop with my paint stamped bg LO 'Thank Goodness'.

I have a book on my bedside table that I haven't read yet - it's been sitting there for 12 months at least. It's called 'Live Your Best Life!'. An integrated guide to diet, happiness and life. I don't know why I haven't read it yet but I do know I certainly haven't been living my best life!!!!! I hope in light of the news I've received recently, that it's not too late to start living my best life. After all, I owe it to myself & those that I love.

The card is for Nat's Mystery Challenge Sketch. Cards are really not my thing but I do try & attempt them. This one's pretty basic using some scraps from my desk.

This LO is Helen's Product/Technique Challenge - using no patterned paper. I've used some of the new Generation Z transparency & some journal stickers & I love how it turned out. Teresa snapped this photo of Riley & I, on the sly.

The next one is Michelle's Colour challenge - brick red, sky blue, lemon & chocolate. I'm pretty happy with this one too!!!

I wasn't able to do Anthea's free class live at Scrapbook Savvy but I loved the finished LOs, so decided to do this one with some photos of Jamie & I at Nathan & Sally's wedding.

And the last one was Sar's Blind Scrap for Febuary's CC at Savvy. The lace I used is about 30 years old, from my childhood sewing box. Also used up some very old rubons - I love using old stuff at the moment.

Not long now til Kate's retreat - my first for the year - can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
