VISITORS

I've had Mum at home for a few days - she was down to have a PET scan in at the Mater. It was a quick visit as she's gone home on the train today. She is battling on but the treatment has knocked her around a fair bit & slowed her up alot. I am very proud of how she has managed to handle everything this year.

And now we have Jamie's Dad, sister & brother here for the night before they head up to the Hunter Valley tomorrow, for a family wedding on Saturday. The boys & some of the girls are playing golf at the Vintage, with Nathan the groom. Us girls are going up Saturday after cricket & when I get Riley organised to go to Tracey's.

Finished one LO for the Boutique this week & have another one to do as a sample for the Nov Stylist challenge. Also have Nov 123 Challenge to complete & I think I'll try & get them done at Peta's Retreat tomorrow. Lois & I are heading up for the day. Some of the girls are already there tonight & have started scrapping up a storm. Should be a really good day!!!!!

Off to pack my gear.

A FEW LOs

These three were from my first Boutique Stylist pack, using Fancy Pants Rough & Tough range.

This one is using Shabby Green Door's Farmer's Market range, also from my Stylist pack. Chels is very generous with her product!!! And I based it on Emma's Stash Stomper sketch for this month. (Notice the sewing? Got my old machine serviced!!)

And this next one is for Manon's Inspiration Challenge. The first one using some of my many tulips photos!!!

We scrapped this lovely vintage one with Sue, on the Saturday night of our weekend in Bundanoon. Sue had made us up little packs of goodies to use. I know it's the same photo but I love how this turned out.

And in this one I have scrapped a copy of a really old photo of my Mum's family circa 1931 I think. Used a few pieces from a WIOIN kit on it, as well as some old lace from the antique shop in Berrima.

CYBERCROP THIS WEEKEND

At ScrapBoutique and I have set my first challenge as Guest Stylist. Our theme this month is "Celebrate Everyday", so my challenge is to include an everyday photo, the words 'every day' & an everyday embellishment. Hope the girls enjoy playing along with it. This is my sample:

And this is the LO I was having all the trouble with last night. Once I changed the PPs it came together really easily & I breathed a huge sigh of relief. It's for Emma's Sketch Challenge:

Tomorrow I'm off to the 12hr Crop Day that Michelle from Scrapbook Divas has organised, to raise money for Women's Cancers. Have 5 of my scrapping buddies going with me, so am looking forward to a laugh with them. And hopefully I will get lots scrapped cause I've packed enough stuff for a week!!!!

AAAARRRGGHHHH............

I'm having a terrible time trying to get a LO finished. The sketch isn't working, the photos aren't working, the pps aren't working............and it's all driving me insane. I think I'll bloghop to try & gather some inspiration. Back tomorrow with some announcements from ScrapBoutique.

WEEKEND AWAY

I'm off in the morning to spend the weekend in the Southern Highlands with 7 of the TickLed Pink girls. We are hoping there is something of the tulips left - unfortunately the weather has had a big effect on them but lucky for us Sue took some lovely photos just before the bad storms hit the other week. So we will have them to fall back on for our scrapping :-) With it being so cold here today, I've put off packing but now it looks like I'll be pulling warm things out of the back of the closet. It has apparently snowed down around Canberra today!!!!!

No scrapping to share as yet - it's been all Boutique stuff this week. But we'll be scrapping over the weekend, so am looking forward to that!!! OK I'm off to throw some stuff into a bag.

CHECK THIS OUT

The gorgeous Krissy is giving away a sample pack of her beautiful handmade flowers. Check her vintage flower blog out here.

I've enjoyed a day at home today, although I haven't been that productive!!! Too much time spent on this old puter. Nearly finished cleaning out Riley's room - only got the books & shelves to go - this is the only bit of spring cleaning I've managed to do so far.

The weather has turned cool & the rain is hanging around but not actually falling - go figure??? Glad I haven't packed away any warm clothes cause I'm going to need them for our weekend away down in the southern highlands.

I managed to make some simple, basic cards for WCMD at ScrapBoutique , this one was using a sketch by the lovely Liz & the Fancy Pants Rough & Tough from my DT kit.

Have also completed another couple of DT LOs, using my trusty, old sewing machine that I have finally had serviced. Didn't realise how much I missed sewing on my LOs:)

Off to enjoy my porkchop dinner!!!

GRADUATION DAY

A bittersweet day today with Felicity finishing 13 years of formal schooling. The graduation ceremony was lovely - of course I shed a few tears - as soon as the national anthem was played actually!!!!! Our girl came first in the year for Hospitality & also received an award for Excellence in Work Placement, which was a nice surprise. Jamie & I were very proud of her, so we took her & Cameron out for lunch afterwards to celebrate - & then she was off to work at Maccas - welcome to the real world hey!!!

Check out all the challenges for World Card Making Day at Scrapboutique this weekend. Challenges are due in the gallery by Monday night 5th Oct. I certainly don't profess to be a cardmaker but I'm determined to get at least a couple of the challenges done. Some of the girls on the forum make awesome cards, so I will be looking forward to checking them all out.

I have been busy scrapping with my new DT kit & will share at a later date. And I have also set my first challenge for the monthly competition here and this is my sample.

And in other scrapping news.........I received my first ever acceptance from Scrapbooking Memories today. I decided to submit some LOs the other night when I was updating the 'Mag Watch' forum at the Boutique & was very surprised to get an email requesting one of the LOs I did for my class with my TP girls.
